Made the point after the tough game in New York that Kurt plays MUCH BETTER in ideal conditions. NO surprise there as most QB's do but the dinged finger & the slippery conditions that day made it pretty difficult to have success. ONLY a few QB's ie; Farve, Brady, Manning, Rothleisberger, seem to luv playing in the elements.

Anyways, as the season progresses it becomes even more imperative to build a solid-running game for when the weather turns. ...And I'm REALLY glad our last game is at HOME against Seattle. THAT'S HUGE!!

When Warner was playing at his best as part of the "Greatest show on turf", he was a member of the Rams who are a Dome Team. Then he went to NY where he stunk it up, they play on open-air. Hence the record.

Normally I would follow this sane logic too, but you cant ignore the fact that his best days were in a dome. Lots of qb's over the years had preferences when it came to indoor/outdoor.

Translation---- win win win.....get that home field advantage

One would only have to remove home games from the record to give less tainted data.

He only played 9 games in NY...Most of that Open Air record is from the Rams and AZ.

Yeah, that 4-3 record as the Giants starter in open air really screwed his record up. Or not.

His open air record was above .500 when he left the Rams, too. That it's bad now is all about his time with the Cardinals.

Through week five Kurt is top rated QB in the NFL. See my other post today with the stats. Pretty darn good for a 38 year old. As it is we are very much a passing team. That is where all our strength is. Our runners are good but not great. Some of our receivers are great and Warner is leading the NFL as a QB through week 5. I think Whiz wants us to be a running team and has attempted that with not very good results. I think he now knows where our strength is and for better or worse we will live and die with the pass. To be a running team we are going to need a better OL, a breakaway type runner who can go all the way, and soon a younger replacement for James. Hightower is not a James replacement IMHO but he is going to contribute and be a good player. Great one, I doubt it. To have a decent season we are going to need Kurt to stay healthy, get Boldin back, Fitz to continue to play at an all star level, James to stay healthy, and the defense to tighten up. Kurt or James could go down at any time at the positions they play and due to age. Both are as tough as nails and will have to be dragged off of the field. I think Kurt will play all season with some pain or another. How he throws the ball with that bad hand I do not know and he takes some really big hits waiting for receivers to break clear. I suspect we will see Matt before the season is over. Not due to a lack of performance by Kurt. Kurt is a mans man. Anyone not admiring him for taking the hits he does at age 38 has not seen age 38 yet.
