As rumored all summer Renardo Sidney is transferring again, out of Artesia and into Fairfax. He had all sorts of problems last year with teammates and got suspended by the coach once. The coach was so fed up dealing with Malik Story and his dad(same people Sidney was having problems with) that the coach quit. Sidney toyed with the idea of staying but apparently wants to play for Harvey kitani at Fairfax.

Fairfax is where Josh and Jerren shipp played and most recently Chace Stanback about to enroll at UCLA, harvey Kitani is a no nonsense coach, this seen as a really good thing for Pac 10 schools that Sidney is there. People see it as more evidence he's trying to change the perception of him as a kid with no interest in school.

Demar Derozan, USC commit will leave Compton to enroll at Oak Hill, which must terrify USC fans since he'll be playing with buddy Brandon Jennings who changed his mind on USC and picked UA. Right now everyone thinks Demar is firm to USC but Jennings will now have a full year to try and change his mind.

Malik Story decided Derozan would take all his playing time, so he's no longer going to Oak Hill and will instead transfer to... Compton, where he'll replace Derozan. Sounds crazy but this sort of stuff goes on in LA all the time it's like NFL free agency.

What are the CIF rules regarding transferring to a new school? I thought a player had to transfer prior to July 1st in order to be eligible to play that upcoming season.

Anyways, I'm glad to hear that Renardo's tranferring to Fairfax. The administration at Artesia is messed up. They don't deserve a player of Sidney' caliber at their school.

As for Malik Story, if he figures Derozan is going to steal time from him at Oak Hill, what does he think is going to happen when they both go to USC? I wouldn't be surprised at all if Story reneges on his verbal to SC and goes elsewhere.

Derozan and Story should sign LOI's in early November, so it's getting a little late in the game for them to be changing their minds or getting influenced by other players.

And Renardo Sidney is supposedly one of if not the best player in his class and has not yet gotten a Pac-10 scholarship offer which should tell you something.

From what I see USC fans WANT Story to de-commit, they have figured out the kid and his dad are a pain in the rear and that he hasn't gotten any better as a player. He can shoot but that's about it.

Derozan is one and done but Story seems to be one of those kids that was physically advanced at a young age and everyone caught up to him and surpassed him since he was a freshman.

It wouldn't stun me if he reneged on USC but I would be more inclined to expect Floyd to convince him to renege than him to do it on his own.

On transfers I think it takes quite awhile to become official I'm sure there is a cutoff but what it is I don't know. I just read over the weekend about all these moves.

Where would Story end up? Obviously ASU would be a factor due to Pera but he's probably not good enough to use a scholarship on when they have such pressing needs in the frontcourt and at PG. Then again, ASU's 2008 recruiting is going so poorly that they might just pull the trigger.

Everything you read says he's a lock to USC. Jrue was quoted as saying as they headed off to the tournament at Rucker last week Derozan was wearing all USC gear including the cover on his cellphone. Seems like a longshot he'd change his mind now I agree.

I do know there's a couple of threads on a USC board I look at specifically wondering why he suddenly went to Oak Hill and "should we be nervous>"

Actually, Story won't be a factor at ASU if Pera has anything to do with it. Pera is all too familiar with the Story's (specifically Malik's dad) and I'm sure he wants nothing to do with them. Malik is a cancer and ASU would be much better without him.

It is really late in the game for Story to look for a scholly elsewhere, but his chances of getting much playing time at SC are dwindling. If what I hear about Story's attitude is correct, he's got to be looking for somewhere else to go where he can be the man and get all the playing time in the world. He very well could end up at SC since that's the only scholly offer he has, but I'm thinking he won't stick around SC very long if he starts out there.

He's starting his junior year.

What makes it weird is he has no offers, even Ohio State is apparently denying they offered him.

UCLA for example has offered in Sidney's class of 09 the Wear twins, hollis Thompson, and Reeves Nelson. In the 2010 class they've officially offered kendall Williams and rumor is they may have offered Jeremy Tyler too.

Sidney is the #1 rated player in his class, in UCLA's backyard, and he says he wants to go to UCLA, and they haven't offered?
