This season, Tahlequah girls soccer holds the capability to score at will.

In a 3-1 win over Grove, the Tigers had three players pick up a goal, but those aren’t the only players that can score for the Tigers. Reece Cowart, Loralie Espinoza and Adi Chuculate all scored in a win Tuesday, March 25 but according to THS coach Scottie McGee, there are multiple other players who can score in any given game.

“We haven’t had that in the past, Emma Fields is a defender but she has a beautiful low shot,” McGee said. “Adie has a powerful shot from the cam position. Lorelli has the finesse and takes a shot at the corner.”

On top of that, the defense players for the Tigers can score at any given moment and have the green light from McGee.

“We have others, Cassidy Forrest can score on the wing,” McGee said. “We have multiple people that can score, Reese and [Audie] Espinosa are backs that I tell to push up and carry as far as possible and to take shots. They move up unmarked, if they take a 30-yard shot I don’t care. That has been the difference this year, peppering goals when we can.”

The offense has been grooving for the Lady Tigers, but the defense is important to the game plan this season.

“Our defense is excellent, they have stopped and they talk,” McGee said. “Sheron and Daniels have been starters for three years and they talk all the time. Adie is a highlight reel as a back. She is extremely good back there, we are solid with our defense. On all three levels, we have been very successful.”

The improvements are apparent through the early part of the season for the Lady Tigers. Last season when THS faced off with Grove they lost 4-1 but completely flipped the script in 2025’s 3-1 win.

“We matched up really well with them though,” McGee said. “This year is different in that our forwards can score at will. They are fast and physical and that has been the game plan this season.”

Next on the docket for the Lady Tigers is the Sapulpa Tournament, starting on Thursday, March 27. THS opens the tournament against a pair of familiar faces in Sapulpa and Glenpool, two teams they scrimmaged against earlier this season.

“We play Glenpool first who we have played and I think we can be successful again,” McGee said. “I think we can go far in the tournament. I hope we can build on this start.”
