No. 10 Tennessee (29-7, 5-4 SEC) defeated No. 2 Oklahoma (31-3, 9-3 SEC) Sunday at Love's Field in Norman, Oklahoma.
With the victory, the Lady Vols clinched the series against Oklahoma, who went 2-for-12 with runners in scoring position. Oklahoma lost an SEC series for the first time in program history.
Oklahoma led, 3-0, scoring three runs in the third inning. Tennessee posted the comeback victory as it scored five runs in the third inning with redshirt freshman second baseman Ella Dodge hitting a three-run home run and senior shortstop Laura Mealer hitting a two-run double.
Dodge went 1-for-3 in the game, recording a three-run home run, while Mealer went 1-for-3, hitting a double, recording two RBIs and scoring one run. McKenna Gibson went 2-for-3 for the Lady Vols, who collected four hits in the contest.
Karlyn Pickens (13-4) pitched seven innings. She allowed three runs, four hits and three walks. Pickens recorded six strikeouts, while totaling 121 pitches, including 79 strikes.
