High ceiling, low floor. All depends on the coach he gets whether he'll be successful or not.

I think he is going to be a turnover machine in the NFL... but he could outgrow it if he is coachable...seems like a good kid that has some passion for the game.

I wouldnt be mad if he was the guy, the kid is a baller.

I have seen a few mocks that have him early second round but I think if Keim wants him just pick him at 15 and be done with it...no point in playing the draft game.

but I have also seen a couple mocks that had him going at 6 to the jets

So that now makes these guys all probable 1st round QBs

Seth Rosen UCLA
Sam Darnold USC
Mason Rudolph OK ST
Lamar Jackson UL
Josh Allen Wyomi ng
2.NYG-QBOF behind Eli Manning.Giants have major OLINE issues and RB
5.Denver -Have Semian and Paxton Lynch under contract -will they jump at QB?
6.Jets-yes they need a QB-Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg on roster
11.Miami-Ryan Tannehill only QB under contract
12.Cinn-AJ McCarron and Andy Dalton
13 .Washington -Kirk Cousins or not?Other QB on roster Colt McCoy and Terrelle Pryor.

All those teams are posssibly thinking QB.
Teams also possibly thinking QB
17.LAC-QBOF behind Phillip Rivers
21.1BBuffalo,New Orleans,Pitt all could be looking for QBOF.

Ain’t this the truth. The good thing is with a new regime comes a new system for the whole team so it won’t just be the QB having to learn. I hope the new OCs system will not be as complex as BAs. I wonder if the OC decision will come down to who will tailor their system to a guy like Mayfield or Jackson so that their development is on the fast track.

Lamar is closest to Desean Watson
Lamar broke Drew Brees record in college for yards...that better wake you up.

He moves the ball down the field. He doesn’t turn it over like Sam.

He’s my favorite of the group.

If the Cards draft him I’ll renew my season tickets....if not I’m out.

Not gonna pay to see the free fall.

Lamar Jackson reminds me so much like Cam Newton. But he needs to sit out for a year behind a vet and the coach would need to build the offense around here like Chud did with Cam.

He’d be a weapon in the nfl.

Good thing is the year your sitting him to learn you could still have a package of plays for him to impact games his rookie year.

If the reports of Shurmur being the top HC candidate are true...then I'd feel comfortable with Jackson. He needs a coach that will be flexible with the offense and not force him to strictly be a pocket passer.

I wouldn't draft him if I hired Patricia or Wilks or a defensive minded HC. You need someone to develop him or it will be a mess.

I would be more for Jackson than Allen, with my first choice being Mayfield, but I will support and accept whatever QB our staff spends their due diligence on and selects... just draft one, and let's all get behind the guy and the coach :)

What/which staff?

Watson already got busted up and Jackson's style is begging for the same.
Difference is Watson already tore his ACL in college. Also doesn’t help that Frank Clark grabbed his knees after already the ball being released in the pocket.

Lamar has yet to have an injury. Not even in high school.

Non contact, in practice I believe. Sort of like Teddy but not as severe apparently.

In any case, I would be happy with Lamar or any of the top QBs in this draft WHEREVER the Cards end up picking in the 1st round. Gotta pull the trigger this year. They need at least ONE QB under contract LOL.

No Gabbert, no Stanton, entirely new QB room.

Either Gabbert or Stanton will be here unless they bring in several vets along with their draft pick. That's a lot of capital to waste on question marks and backups.

Hence the Shurmer or DeFilippo hiring. ;)

They'd have to move up to grab him or Mayfield. There will be a run on QB's before thw Cards pick....ONCE AGAIN!

I don't totally agree. If you end up signing Keenum or someone like that to be the presumptive starter, you're still probably going to draft at least one QB. I would draft two. Then you can sign a camp arm to go with them and compete for the last spot.

But I wouldn't want to sign either Gabbert or Stanton as they're far and beyond #2 QBs, and I'd prefer to have a youngster with potential as the backup so he can get real reps.
