Lampe in Russia - Sep. 22, 2006 - by Marcin Pawlowski
Maciej Lampe (210-C-85, agency: Edge Sports) signed a one-year deal with Russian Dynamo St.Petersburg yesterday. Lampe, last season with NO Hornets (2 games) and Houston Rockets (4 games) is satisfied and wants to prove his basketball skills. "I'm very happy with the decision. I could also sign with Chicago Bulls, but I didn't want to be benched all season, I want to play! People from Russia confirmed that I will play 25-30 minutes per game - and this is good, very good option for me. I'm very happy" - said Lampe.

He's probably right. He needs to play. I hope the Suns take another look next summer.

Do you think Lampe could have made the Suns team if he had the writing prowess of one Mr Paul Shirley?

From what I'm reading on the ESPN site, Paul's writing is what might keep him from getting a slot. That plus the fact that's not very good...

Back to Lampe, he needs game experience. The fact that he did not go to one of the elite Euroleague teams suggest that he picked a team primarily based on available minutes.
