Lance Armstrong's former team is disbanding. Discovery Channel will cease operations at the end of this season because of its struggle to find a new sponsor. Doping scandals have left cycling reeling in crisis and made sponsors jittery. That's too bad, but with the fact that cycling is a "sponsored" sport and all the doping allegations, it probably makes sense.

I really only watched the Tour the last five years for Armstrong and then his Discovery Team. With no American sponsored team, I have less interest.

Despite the doping, i thought this year's tour was the best ever. Hope they rid themselves of this curse - if each stage took 30mins longer, it would be no less a spectacle or achievement.
