The New England Patriots have released veteran FB Larry Centers, according to Patriots.com.

Why not pick him up? He would be another passing weapon on 3rd downs

Larry Larry Larry!

His career has never been as good as it was here, maybe I'm just biased.

I think he should come back and retire a Card.

Yeah, activate Rue and put Centers on the practice squad. :bang:

Centers was/is a great player, I think he should retire as a card. But I just can't see him contribute here. We certainly have bigger holes at other places. :(

There are

too many young studs in our backfield that can run and receive I doubt, other than for the sake of a retirement ceremony, we would or should sign him. I don't know if he's ready to hang his pads up yet.

Line him up as the slotreciever...they guy can flat out catch!
Not a bad idea, considering our dearth of healthy wideouts.

He's probably my alltime favorite Card, we should show some love and do the same thing we did for Eric Hill, to Larry.

Didn't Eric Hill sign with the Cards and then retire? He didn't sign with the Cardinals to come back as a player.

Larry Centers

Was the one Cardinal that always played his ass off against my Cowboys. ........I couldnt believe when you guys didnt resign him. Oh well another mistake in the Cards front office. But yeah i definatlly think he should retire a Card.......just like Emmitt should retire a Cowboy.

LC one of my all timers!!

Still got my authentic 37!! But he wouldn't be able to help out much now. Maybe though he'd be able to cuss a couple of people out. Get these kids fired up to play some damn ball.

Didn't resign him? As I recall, we cut him with 3 years left on his contract.

We needed to get under the salary cap and rather than restructure anyones contract, a tactic every other team in the league uses to manage their cap, we cut our most loved player and his $3 Million salary. I believe he ended up signing in DC for something near the NFL Minimum.

You are right though that releasing him was another classic example of the bone-headed mistakes made by our front office.

Go Cards!!!
