Arizona Cardinals linebacker Larry Foote strongly criticized Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch on Monday, saying Lynch is sending the wrong message to children.

"He always mentions his foundation and what he likes to do for the city of Oakland," Foote said in an interview with 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh. "I'm from the same type of urban environment that he's from.

"The biggest message he's giving these kids, he might not want to admit it, is 'the hell with authority. I don't care, fine me. I'm gonna grab my crotch. I'm gonna do it my way.'"

He need to play one more year for us before he starts his coaching career.

As a teacher of high school kids, I view Larry Foote's words and sentiments as profoundly important for today's youth to hear and to comprehend.

I taunt in the inner city for 8 years, it takes one Lynch to undo the work of a dozen Larry Footes.

So true...sadly and often tragically so.

Kudos to you, my friend! That's God's work you were doing for 8 years. I bet you helped change a lot of lives in your tenure there---many of which you may not even know about.

Problem is most kids today are in the "entitlement & all about me" mode. Sad, but true.

wow, so these kids are growing up with gangs all over the place, drugs everywhere, most in single family homes.

But one football player grabbing his crotch is more dangerous to them than all that?

Seriously, or am I misunderstanding your point?

Lynch is using his own money to finance things like boys and girls clubs to give the kids a place to go that gets them off the street. Those play 60 commercials the NFL runs all the time, that's precisely what Lynch is doing for kids with his foundation.

I agree that it would be better if he wasn't grabbing his crotch and stuff but in the whole scheme of things not that bad.

I wonder what Foote thinks about what Belichick and Brady do, I would think their win at all costs ends justify the means mentality is actually a worse thing for the kids to experience than Lynch?

I guess I'm confused why Lynch is a worse role model for these kids than what the Patriots did with the inflate gate stuff?

One guy is being accused of advising kids to not conform, but the other one is literally making cheating an art form.

Foote has a point about some of what Lynch does, I just don't see why he didn't also call out Belichick or Brady.

There is no proof the pats did anything yet where the problems he has with lynch are all in plain site.

I guess you missed a few years ago when they were caught taping against the rules.

Or you missed the reports that the NFL has the video of a Patriots employee taking all 24 balls into the bathroom? If that report is correct, they cheated. People keep saying maybe the balls deflated due to the temperature, yet somehow none of the balls the Colts were using deflated but 11 of the 12 the Pats had did?

I think it's obvious the balls were intentionally deflated, it's preposterous to suggest some rogue employee did it and none of the coaches or players had any idea.

BTW I will post my prediction now on what the Patriots employees excuse will be for why he took the balls into the bathroom. "I was on my way out to the field when I realized I better go pee before I go out there. The balls aren't supposed to be tampered with before the game so I thought I better bring them in there with me just to keep them safe."

I think it's obvious

Exactly. I THINK it looks obvious too.

I KNOW that lynch disrespects authority, the game and everyone watching him play by grabbing his genitals in celebration.

Think and know are totally different.

No, I didnt miss "spygate" however I dont see it as cheating. I see it as bending the rules to your advantage which any of us will do if the most prized possession of our life it on the line. its not against the rules to watch his signs and decipher them, but taping the signs is. Meh.

Every team bends any rule they can to gain a competitive advantage.

Remember Stickem? Do you think Madden is a fraud because he had his players use stickem?

PS: I dont care about what lynch is doing either. Hes an idiot but hes a great football player and I watch football for the football itself, not for the personalities and a lesson on ethics.

My kids can see that and I can tell them he is an assclown. no big deal.

That might be proof that it was done, but not proof that B&B knew or ordered it done.

We have a different definition of cheating. Stickum was allowed at the time Biletnikoff did it, after they changed the rules if the Raiders still did it, it's cheating.

The Pats weren't filming signals because for any other reason than to get an unfair advantage.

I agree I don't watch football for ethics, I will say this, any kid old enough to be led astray by Lynch grabbing his crotch, is also old enough to have learned the lesson that it's ok to cheat if you win Super Bowls in the process.

I think Foote had a right to say what he said, i'm just puzzled why he singled out Lynch and not Belichick or Brady or the whole Patriots organization.

That's a completely different issue.

Foote grew up in a rough innercity just like Lynch. So he is mearly pointing out why he thinks Lynch's actions are doing more harm than good.

a rogue ballboy deflating balls without telling anyone is a crazy conspiracy theory IMO.

There's another report out there that says only one of the balls were seriously deflated, not all but one.

sure, so what other reason can you offer as to why a Patriots employee would have done it?

Is it really plausible someone decided to do that with absolutely no input from a coach or QB? Remember Tom Brady is on record from several years earlier saying he likes underinflated footballs, and he absolutely does not want ANYBODY touching the game balls once he's approved them. How much more clear can it be that nobody on the Patriots payroll would touch them without his knowledge?

So, your son goes out and robs a bank because you need the money. Send you to prison, too? (I have no love for attorneys, btw).

Why are you hung up on crotch grabbing?

Foote is refering to Lynch's overall demeaner of I don't care if you fine me. I'll do it anyways or just find a way around it. Like him answering every question with the same stupid response so he doesnt get fined.

If that's his point he's nuts, he really thinks grabbing his crotch does more harm than his foundation does good?

I like Foote I'm glad he does good things off the field, to me it seems like he just piled on Lynch because it was easy to do.
