Selleck is Las Vegas' New Leading Man

Emmy winner Tom Selleck ("Friends," "Magnum P.I.") is in discussions to join NBC's "Las Vegas" as the fast-paced drama's new leading man.

He would play the smart, powerful, fun-loving new owner of Montecito Resort & Casino, a new character designed to fill the void left by the recent departure of the show's star James Caan.

Caan, who played the head of the casino's surveillance team for four years, recently left the series to return to features.

"Vegas," from NBC Universal TV Studio and DreamWorks TV, was picked up for a fifth season in February and is slated to begin production on its order soon. The show also is looking to add a beautiful female concierge in the wake of the departure of co-star Nikki Cox.

Josh Duhamel also stars on "Vegas," with Molly Sims, James Lesure and Vanessa Marcil rounding out the cast.

I watched the first season and liked it alot. It isnt great TV, but pretty entertaining.

Season 2 is in my BB Q.

Best looking cast on TV....it is in the Hall of Fame with Baywatch and Melrose Place. I TIVO it every week. It is great mindless entertainment.

Is it me or has Nikki Cox aged like 10 years in the last season? She looks totally different.

She is definitely looking a bit odder lately...but she has looked like she was in her early 20's for almost 20 years...or whenever that show with the stupid sock puppet came out. It was bound to happen.

She definitely has the oddest taste in guys....Bobcat and Jay Mohr. She has a thing for bad comedians.

She is off the show now correct? In the article I read she said she was told it was for budget reasons. Huh? A huge part of that budget was JK. Now they are bringing in TS?!?!? She got the shaft if that's true. <--- you know what I mean.

Last Friday Was Las Vegas' Series Finale

Sorry "Las Vegas" fans, your show won't be getting a proper finale. Turns out, last Friday's episode was actually the last new one you'll ever see. TV Guide says:

Sources confirm to me exclusively that NBC has opted not to renew the show for a sixth season. Consequently, last Friday's episode? Yep, that was the series finale. Hope it was satisfying!

NBC had hoped this season's cast shake-up — Thomas Magnum replacing Sonny Corleone — might re-energize the show, but instead, it led to a double-digit ratings decline. Of course, the Friday time slot didn't help.
