posted this in the draft thread:

Lattimore might hurt us in 2 years. We got bigger issues to face over the next two seasons.

We don't have the fortune like the 9ers to pick and stash a guy for next year. Need impact players now. Plus, there's no guarantee he'll be effective after that nasty injury.

As a South Carolina grad and fan, this one hurt. Then we pick up Ellington from Clemson. Ouch. He is good, but he's a Tiger. Still, really good value where we got him.

49ers could afford to keep him out this year so he can completely heal. Right situation for him. Could be bad for us in the future.

Elite D, great coach, dominant OL, nice weapons on offense... Thought I was calm.

:biglaugh:

claiming that they are going to be "rediculous" for the next decade is a real stretch and being a tad over zealous I would say. Are they good right now? sure but to claim them a dynasty is just a little silly and in the NFL you just never know. Thinks can change pretty darn quickly!

Dynasty??? You used the D word, not me... This is pointless anyway since you can't look at the situation with an unbiased opinion. Any non-Cards fan can see nearly going to b2b SB's and having tons of young talent means they'll be really good for a while.

What stinks is that the Niners are so deep they can afford to make this pick.

I think the Niners are as in a good as postion as possible in this new age of free agency and the way contracts are quick fixes with athletes changing their mind on what was put on paper...that said, one who have to be really naive to think Kap after a year of tape on him is going to be a slam dunk as their QB of the future. Wilson with the Seahawks is another matter, I believe in this kid because he does have a passer mentality though the Seahawks lack in talent as a whole compared to the Niners. Just a few years back we were the studs of this division. I know this, with Palmer we would have won at least four games last year. This season is going to be fun to watch :)

Did you use the D word? No. But using the word "ridiculous" as in meaning you are they will be kind of crazy good for another decade is quite an assumption. I am looking at it in an unbiased fashion. There is a reason the NFL is referred to as the "NOT FOR LONG" league. Parity in the NFL is alive and well. Could they be good that long? Sure. But with FA and nobody knowing how well a guy like Kaepernick will hold up to a full season runnning the football and possible injuries etc.... You just never know. Making a blanket statement like that IMO is overstating. Frank Gore is getting long in the tooth. nobody knows how long or healthy Lattimore will be. etc... etc.. Plainly put I'm not just going to assume that they are going to be some great team for the next decade. I have seen some pretty damn good teams get dismantled rather quickly. Lose your one and only franchise caliber QB and and BAM you are pretty normal looking and not all that scary etc... But hey if you want to crown them the cream of the NFC west for the next 10 years be my guest.

I think its pretty hard to have a dynasty in the NFL anymore. Too many player movements with FA and the new salary cap rules also affect it.

Who does SF have behind Kaepernick should he go down with an injury? I think they are going to have to re-invent Kaepernick once DCs get to watch tape and figure out how to defend the SF offense with Kaepernick running it.

Sure he could go down but what surprised me was his accuracy down the field. He seems like a intelligent dude with a strong work ethic so I'm not getting my hopes up about him flaming out.

The bicep kiss thing needs to go though...

There Niners have done a lot of moves that frighten me as an opposing fan, but drafting a running back with scotch tape for tendons is not among them.
