I was at physical therapy today and Lavar Arrington walked through the door and sat next to me. This guy was so down to earth and cool to talk to. I told him a was a big football fan and , and after he quizzed me on my knowlege of the NFL and college football, we got to talking for a few hours and he gave me a lot of valuable insight. It looks like we will be together in there for another 2-3 months minimum, so if anyone wants me to ask him anything let me know. Here are some of the things he said:

1. His best two friends are Ray Lewis and Bryant Johnson

2. He thinks Boldin is the best reciever in the game and if he played anywhere other than Arizona he would be the face of the NFL. Lavar couldn't stop talking about the Quan. He said he is one of the best guys he knows and gives more effort on the field than anyone besides Ray Lewis.

3. He watched the Oakland game and couldn't believe that Fitz dropped those passes.

4. Ray lewis is trying hard to get BJ to come to Baltimore next year.

5. He seems to think that the Cards will never be a winning franchise until Bidwill dies or sells the team. Didn't name names, but said the front office is behind the times and needs to be redone.

6. Says he never thought much of Denny Green's abilities as a coach.

7. In his own words agreed with what I have been posting on here for years and said that "people fail to realize that Terrell Suggs would have never been Terrell Suggs in very many places besides Baltimore." He said that Terrell would have failed miserably in Arizona.

8. Thinks that Ravens rookie Antwaan Barnes may be the NFL DROY.

9. Was on his way to preliminary talks w/ the Skins when he wrecked his bike and plans to make a comeback w/ either them or the Ravens next year.

10. Knows Levi Brown pretty well being as they are both Penn State Alum and calls him Major Payne. He says Levi doesn't comprehend failure and expects him to be a monster very soon.

I took a few pictures that I am trying to transfer from my phone to the computer here.

Funny...a few years back, Arrington was lobbying hard for Dennis Green to be the next Skins' coach, calling Green a bona fide winner and a player's coach. Arrington was indicating at the time that there was no other coach he wanted to play for, and wasn't exactly thrilled that Joe Gibbs was hired instead. So, for Arrington to now say he never thought that much of Green's abilities as a coach, is quite a contradiction...unless Arrington was liking Green for the same reasons that Edge was liking Green: he wouldn't hammer on them in pre-season or practice.

Then again, a lot of people thought that Green was a good coach until last year, myself included.

I will say this...someone is going to get a deal when they pluck BJ off our roster....assuming we can't re-sign him....which I don't think we will be able to do.

I really hope the Card's can get an extension/re-sign done with Johnson. I feel certain that they will reget not doing so.

How many and who on the current roster become FA's following this season? BJ, Dansby, others??

I beg to differ. No one other than Graves and Bidwill offered him a job after Minnesota.

To be fair, after he was done collecting his 10 million dollars for not coaching for two years, he did talk with the Redskins and Raiders as well as us.

..and you are sure of this how? It is obvious that he took the Cards offer, but that doesnt mean that he would have never been offered another job. He had been a leading candidate for a couple of years.

Okay. About what?

You sure it wasn't just denny's people throwing out a blurb on espn?

I'm pretty sure green also talked to Jax and the Giants. I have no idea if any of them made a firm offer but there were reports that at least 2, I think Wash and Jax were the teams that told him if he insisted on having Solomon and Hargrave on the staff, they would not hire him.

He also interviewed with SF for OC because he wanted to prove to them he wasn't a control freak.

I think the closest he came to another offer was Oakland, Bill Walsh was really pushing him on Al Davis. he also had several prominent black sportswriters like Whitlock and Michael Smith who were campaigning for him to get another job. Part of the problem was you were never sure if teams interviewing him were serious, or fulfilling their Rooney Rule requirements knowing Green was happy to get paid by the Vikings to do nothing?

I don't think we have a chance to re-sign him.

If BJ has a good year, why would he be content with being #3 behind Q and Fitz. He could be #1 in Minnesota and #2 on several teams.

Doesn't Baltimore already have an under-achieving first round draft pick in Mark Clayton? Why would they want another in JOhnson?
