ROSTER MOVES
Tempe, AZ – The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has placed defensive tackle ROSS KOLODZIEJ (quadricep) on injured reserve and has elevated linebacker DAVID HOLLOWAY from the practice squad to the 53-man active roster and has signed him to a two-year contract.
Holloway (6-2, 230) was originally signed by the Cardinals as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Maryland following this year’s NFL Draft. He started 12 of 13 games at middle linebacker last year at Maryland and was the third-leading tackler on the team with 70 total stops in addition to having 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble. He finished his collegiate career with 186 tackles (98 solos), six sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and one interception while starting in 34 of the 37 games he appeared in. Holloway’s father, Brian, was an NFL All-Pro who played with the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Raiders during his career.
Holloway spent training camp with the Cardinals and was released on August 31. He was re-signed to the practice squad on September 3 where he has spent the first 16 weeks of the season.
Holloway will wear jersey #57.
In addition, the Cardinals have re-signed tight end ALEX SHOR to the practice squad. Shor (6-7, 250) was with the Cardinals during 2007 training camp and was released on August 31. He was originally signed by Arizona as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2006 out Syracuse and was in training camp until he was released on August 21, 2006. He played nine games in NFL Europa for the Berlin Thunder last spring and finished with seven receptions for 70 yards.
