Anybody watch this documentary on HBO?
I'm posting it here as I believe schutd may be able to provide some insight to the restaurant as it is located in the Bloomberg building in NYC and he may have been there.
It's about Sirio Maccioni and his family owned/operated restaurant Le Cirque.
It's a pretty interesting and dramatic documentation about the family closing their restaurant and re-opening it in a new building.
There is a great struggle between Sirio's 3 sons and Sirio's holding on to the past. The kids want to move in a direction that would attract a younger crowd, Sirio wants a formal restaurant to cater to the rich and wealthy of the past (Trump, Cosby, Joan Collins, Woody Allen, etc).
The big moment comes when they get reviewed by the NYT.
A lot of behind the scenes stuff as far meetings to discuss wait staff training, the look of the restaurant and bar, the arguments about the direction of the restaurant, and a little bio on Sirio's life from childhood to now.
