Leandro averaged 23.5 ppg in the eight games he played, 47.7% shooting and 40.3% for three plus 78.6% for three. Obviously this is driven by playing 32.4 minutes a game compared to only 19.1 minutes by Carmelo; but he played on a team where everyone's defense was focused on him.

Overall, Leandro had three bad games against USA (totally shut down), Argentina and Venezuela. In the game against Argentina, he did manage to hit 3 of 7 three pointers but only 2 of 11 for 2 points. His weak game was against Venezuela, where he shot only 2 of 7 for 2, but did hit 3 of 6 for three. (Leandro did not shoot well in either of the first two games, but picked it as the series went on).

In the other five games, he averaged over 30 in four of them, shot 56.1% for two and 42.4% for three. In their loss to Puerto Rico, Leandro had a good game even though the rest of his team didn't: 34 points on 8 of 14 and 2 of 6 for three, 12 of 13 from the line.

As an aside, he averaged 3 assists per game despite playing off the ball.

Overall, having the responsibility to be the main offensive threat for a team may be beneficial experience.

Especially as you noted, "where everyone's defense was focused on him." It would appear opposing teams build game plans towards stopping him.
