Lebanon girls, Wilson Central boys prevail

Lebanon’s girls edged visiting Wilson Central 4-3 while the Wildcats beat the Blue Devils by the same score in tennis action last Thursday at Boyd-Rushing Courts.

Singles winners for the Lady Devils were Claire Summar over Addie Cranor 7-5, 7-5; Kailah Wiggins over Keegan Nixon 6-1, 6-1 and Courtney Aluya over Nadia Colon Padilla 6-0, 6-2. Doubles winners were Wiggins and Ellie Shanks over Cranor and Nixon 8-5.

Lady Wildcat winners were Lillia Colebank over Izzy Walden 6-3, 6-1 and Sophia Davis over Shanks 6-1, 6-3. Doubles winners were Colebank and Davis over Walden and Summar 8-1 as Central slipped to 1-1 for the season.

Singles winners for Wilson Central’s boys were Alejandro Conde over Jacob Rasiner 6-0, 6-0 and Mateo Dorcey over Caleb Tomlinson 7-6, 6-3. The Wildcats won the match by sweeping the doubles. Conde and Dorcey defeated Rasinar and Kelton Coffee 8-2 while Aadhish Udayakumar and Cameron Sather stopped Tomlinson and Jackson Williams 8-3 as they improved to 2-0.

Blue Devil winners were Coffee over Udayakumar 6-0, 6-3; Williams over Sather 7-6, 6-3 and Luke Porter over Garron Colebank (no score given).

In junior-varsity girls, Wilson Central’s Sloane Taylor topped Alondra Tecalco-Pineda 6-4 while she and Nadie Colon Padilla edged Aluya and Tecalco-Pineda 8-6.

In JV boys, Central’s Everett Sather edged Brendan Dedman while Knox Rhodes got past Tre Burford, both by 7-6 scores. Lebanon’s London Owens beat Alex Fedie 6-4.

Wilson Central is facing Station Camp, Hendersonville and Portland in District 9-AA matches this week before the Wildcats and Lebanon co-host the second annual Modern Woodmen Invitational on Saturday.
