One of the reasons people were skeptical about how JJ Redick would do as the Los Angeles Lakers' head coach when they hired him last June was his friendship with LeBron James. The two co-hosted the "Mind the Game" podcast together, and some wondered if Redick could objectively coach the Lakers' superstar without any favoritism.
The two promptly ended that podcast once Redick became the team's head coach. However, a big announcement was made about it on Wednesday.
The "Mind the Game" podcast will return this Saturday, and this time, James' co-host will be Steve Nash, the two-time NBA MVP and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer.
The "Mind the Game" podcast was known for high-level basketball discussion, the type that pleases the palate of basketball junkies and technocrats. One should expect the same with Nash, who was one of the best point guards in history, not to mention one of the smartest players ever.
He briefly coached the Brooklyn Nets starting in the 2020-21 season before he was fired early in the 2022-23 campaign.
