A video of LeBron James wearing a Columbus Blue Jackets Stadium Series jersey, posted on X by ESPN and retweeted by the Blue Jackets, racked up thousands of hits Wednesday night.
ESPN used an icy-blue-faced emoji and a fire emoji, and the Blue Jackets used a goat emoji, appropriate for the NBA's all-time leading scorer.
James' jersey is the same one the Jackets wore during their 5-3 victory over the Detroit Red Wings at Ohio Stadium on March 1.
James, of course, is an Akron native and an Ohio State fan.
James, 40, has been dealing with a strained left groin, an injury he sustained in a game against the Boston Celtics on March 8.
Hence why he was on the sidelines in Los Angeles on Wednesday night as the Lakers defeated the Denver Nuggets 120-108 behind Luka Doncic's 31 points.
James has shown little signs of slowing down despite his age, averaging 25 points, 8.5 assists and 8.2 rebounds per game before being sidelined with the injury.
He’s shooting 51.7% from the field (better than his career figure of 50.7%), while sinking 38.4% of his 3-point attempts.
