Leftwich is looking fantastic again tonight. I love the Pace pick but I'm getting a bad feeling we may have passed on the next great QB. Del Rio still hasn't announced the opening day starter, and I've heard Brunell may get cut (though that seems a bit far fetched at this point, IMHO).

Oh well at this point I'll just hope that Pace becomes a Pro-Bowler very soon.

Sorry bro but get over it! So far the trade is looking like it was the right thing to do!

I was thinking the same thing. :( I traded for Leftwich after my first season of Madden, and he ended up leading us to 3 superbowls in four years.

...granted my HC was Shanahan, the OC was Martz, and the DC was Dungy. ;)

You beat me to it. He can't start, much less have a successful career--he held out so it's curtains for Leftwich.

I said at the time that i thought the Cards made their biggest mistake by passing on Leftwich.Granted it's pre-season,but he is the real thing.THe sad thing is,it's entirely posiible we could've had Leftwich in round 1 and Pace in round 2 if we would have stuck to our original draft positions.Oh well,no sense whining about it because it can't happen now.

Brunnell was announced the opening day starter, from the azrepublic:

JAGUARS: Jacksonville signed tight end Kyle Brady to a three-year contract extension worth $9.3 million. Brady was scheduled to make $2.95 million, but agreed to a deal that will reduce his 2003 salary by more than $2 million in exchange for a $1.85 million signing bonus.

• Three Jaguars testified Thursday before a federal grand jury investigating alleged drug dealings by a city businessman.

• Mark Brunell was named starting quarterback for the regular-season opener.

Couldn't you say the same about Bledsoe? Aikman? Marino? Warner?

It is if the alternative is forcing a ball into coverage and getting intercepted.

Most rookie QB's get sacked a lot, I seem to recall the last rookie QB WE started got sacked 50+ times in 9 starts while Graham was MUCH harder to sack. Who was that rookie again?

I think you dislike Byron as much as I allegedly dislike the other guy. the difference is my "dislike" is built on actual NFL performance.
