For many years, college football and Lee Corso have been synonymous, but unfortunately that relationship will be coming to an end after the first weekend of the 2025 season.
It was announced on Thursday that the former Louisville, Indiana Hoosiers and Northern Illinois head coach will call it a broadcasting career, with his final appearance on ESPN College GameDay being Week 1 of this year. For 38 years, Corso has donned the head gear, or in Notre Dame’s case, worn a leprechaun outfit, when making his selection during the pregame show.
Over the last few years, Corso hasn’t always been part of the show, as his health hasn’t allowed him to be a full participant. He will be fondly remembered by the college football community, and not seeing Corso on GameDay going forward will be a much different look than we are all accustomed to.
