The #Suns announced Alex Len is out with a right pinky fracture. He initially suffered it July 14 at summer league. Re-evaluated in 8 days.

Injury Prone???? Guy can't stay healthy. Wasted fifth pick of the draft.:bang:

I'm not going to freak out about a fractured pinky finger. Still I wonder about what is the cause.

Gerald Green plays quite nicely with only four fingers on one hand. :)

he's quickly earning the nickname Mr. Glass, and that's not because of his rebounding prowess.

you over-reactors are nuts. He broke a PINKY finger that was broken just a couple of months ago. Was it possibly not healed completely? yes.

If anything just Green it off.

over-reactors are nuts? you're making it seem like the guy, who has had multiple foot surgeries and broken bones, has never had an injury. guy's brittle... can't be denied.

Don't know where this came from, but apparently Ryan McD has said he'll miss one week.

This is his 4th issue with bones fracturing in a year. Hard to not be concerned.

2 of those four are with the same pinky finger, so while, yes, the fractures are concerning, it's not like he needs microfracture. Yet.

He's good enough at getting "microfractures" on his own. :p

Microfracture is actually not the treatment of a bone problem, its an effort to create cartilage. The fractures are made deliberately in the hope that the clots that form will act as new cartilage.

Len just breaks stuff.

But the point is still the same. If he had 4 breaks in four different places, your argument would have a lot more merit.

It is odd that he keeps getting fractures. Typically fractured bones heal in a fashion that make them stronger. I wonder if he has the same issue that Sam Bowie had with his bones...hopefully not as we know how his career ended up

One ankle, then the other, then a finger, now supposedly a different spot on the same finger. My argument was that its got to be a concern... and I mean, unless your the Suns orthopod and you get paid by the hour, then its concerning.

Um. No overreaction here. He fractured that finger two months ago. Should have fully healed by now. If not, there is a deeper problem. If it is in a different spot, its still a prblems. He has had breaks in both feet and finger twice in very little playing time.

Soft, brittle bones, or something. Its not like he plays that hard. There is a problem here.

I'm no Alex Len, but I used to jam fingers playing basketball all the time. Fracturing a pinky doesn't seem like a big deal to me. Same pinky, different pinky, whatever. Maybe he'll have to learn not to spread his fingers so wide when going for rebounds or loose balls.

4 breaks in 3 different places in the span of 18 months is still pretty disconcerting.

It's a damn pinky--if it's his ankle again, we'd be in a lot more trouble. Here's how Coro explained the injury:

As Len went to dunk, Ennis hit previous pinky break. Hornacek said it extended it. Len is in a splint for 1 week but expected back after it.

I'm not sure what else you guys want to do. Just cut him and be done with it? I'm not sure what else can be done at this point other than let the pinky heal and have him be back next week. Personally, while the ankles are bothersome, a recurring broken pinky finger doesn't seems like a big deal. If the only fractures he has the rest of his career are his pinky, I'd say we're in good shape. It does nothing to see this and automatically think he's going to break more important bones consistently over his career.

Yup... I'm done with this conversation now. Way to kill any conversation with a Completely BS post considering NONE of us said the above. We just said his injuries are worrisome and now you come back with that hyperbolic crap?

Stupid and unnecessary.

Come on... all I am saying is that its a concern to have 4 breaks in ONE year, and you act as though we're saying we should cut him. If I wanted to be inflammatory about a player I would, and what has been said about Len in this thread is anything but inflammatory.

4 breaks in one year is a reason for concern. There is nothing that can be done about it. Anyone who thinks it is nothing is fooling themselves. Miles Plumlee has played much more time, at a more intense rate, and has none of the issues. You have to wonder if there was a nutrition deficiency when he was younger or something.
