Or you see on the other side of the coin where he was the only legitimate weapon on his team(ala, having all the attention on him) with an average at best QB throwing him the ball. If his production went up with Joe, your point would be accurate, but it didn’t.

That's my point, his production didn't go up. His TD's are about the same, his YPC is about the same. His catch percentage is up.

But his targets are down considerably. 26% down last year when they added Higgens. 37% down this year when they added Chase.

He's still pretty much the exact same player, just seeing less ball with more competition. He's gone from WR1 2 years ago to WR3.

On my phone last night an article popped up saying Larry Fitzgerald had suggested that Kyler might be looking for a trade. read the entire dumb article and essentially the "author" took a quote from Larry at some golf tournament and created an entire drama. Fitz said he hopes it works out best for both parties, and from that the "author" concluded that Fitz was saying Murray wants to be traded.

They don't know, they want people to click on their article and this kind of stuff is perfect.
“some golf tournament” kind of a big one going on locally right now

You're really saying the difference was D.J Reed playing in the 2nd game? Purleeeese.
PFF grade of 78.6.

Thats right. PFF is irrelevant. Especially when it goes against points we like.

So never mind.

Never said it was the difference between games. Just said preparing for a totally different QB and losing both corners certainly helps.

Dont we as Cardinals fans know how bad it can get when missing both corners? Wasnt Tua breakout game against us?

Or it could just be, I don't know, that Green was always that player and Burrow struggled as a rookie adjusting to new players and a new system as most players do?
Then why didnt Tee Higgins struggle? Boyd had a dip in stats, but was still solid.

Imagine if Murray has lost faith in Kingsbury, and that is why he is creating a bit of a stir. Who do Bidwill keep? I tend to think Murray.
This is about money and Kyler/Agent wanting it now. The part that comes down to the organization is that Kyler/Agent don't want to play this year and then negotiate next year with an unknown at HC. If he gets paid now, doesn't have to worry about who the new HC is or any other organizational dysfunction.

Happy to pay him now. But his value is about $30m.

If he want's the big boy money he needs to start playing big boy football.

He wants the dollars that come with getting an early contract ala Mahomes and Allen. Those are the players he wants his name associated with.

So do I. I haven't put the work in or had the achievements to do that though. Neither has Kyler.

Just for the record. From a player and agent perspective, this is 100% the right move to make. You are coming off a disappointing end to your 3rd season. You play for a historically dysfunctional franchise. The owner is reportedly so pissed that the GM and HC that drafted you are on the hot seat for the next season. Your best position is to put pressure on the organization to get your deal done now while you still have some voices in the building that were part of drafting you #1.

From a fan perspective it is frustrating because you have a QB who hasn't won anything trying to force a deal on par with the two best young QBs in the NFL who actually have won meaningful games.

I'm trying to remember literally any other 3rd year QB handling it this way. Especially one that's achieved nothing.

Just a reminder to everyone that Lamar Jackson has been running for 1000 yards a year and risking injury on a 4 year contract worth a total of $9m (Kyler is earning $34m) and when the Ravens didn't extend him after year 3 (and in fact took his 5th year option) he just shrugged and said "It will happen when it happens".

Murray's comparison is Lamar Jackson. Even though Kyler is ending year 3.

Murray's fifth year option is $30 million. The chances of the Cardinals not picking up that option are zero.

I don't buy this at all. Mike B will always be there. The next GM will likely be an internal hire and any HC will have to be all in on Kyler.

If that's what they are thinking they aren't really thinking.

We own Kyler's rights for 2 years + tags. Kyler's leverage is pretty weak right now given his inability to close seasons, stay healthy, and questionable attitude. If he's willing to sign a team-friendly contract now, with ~35 mil annually with a smaller guaranteed salary, then I'm all for it, but if he wants to get paid like Allen and Mahomes, then I tell him to prove it on the field and come back to the table in 2023. Bottom line is the sense of urgency is pretty small (pun intended) at the moment.

Keim is a horrible GM, but if he's kicking the can down the road here, then I support him

The only extension he's earned is about 3 years at $30m per.

That's what he's earned.

If he want's Allen and Mahomes money and 6 years at $45m then no he hasn't earned it. Huge lol is hasn't earned it. Anyone who think he has needs their head looking at.

If he wants to sign for 3 additional years at $30m per then crack on.

If Kyler were willing to sign for the exact contract Allen got I believe it’d be done. That contract isn’t what it seems when you look at the structure/guarantees.

But again that's his fault he's his own agent and they've been saying for over a year when he's ready we are. He apparently chose to wait it out the problem is he's now played 4 years, hasn't played a full season once. It's very easy to see he's only effective when running is a big part of the game plan, but running that much leads to injuries. So it's very likely he's going to keep getting hurt and they may have said after 4 years ok if he's not going to become a good enough passer, we're seriously worried about his future because he runs so much?

But Lamar is his own enemy here he's the agent

I wouldn't sign him to a Josh Allen contract right now. He hasn't earned that/he's not on that trajectory.

You look at his resume and see Offensive Rookie of the Year, 2x Pro Bowler, but he's never put a whole season together and his personality is really hard to rally around.

Look at this board: We have a Top 12 QB and we can't circle the wagons around him. Carson Palmer had more universal support.

Most of the board wanted to keep Rosen.

I’m somewhere between him not earning it and accepting a deal that wouldn’t completely cripple us.

Most of the board wanted to keep Rosen.

It was more Rosen/Bosa-Williams vs Kyler and we didn’t know Rosen was complete trash yet. We were sold on Kliff turning him around.
