I know a lot of you are pulling for the Panthers. Seeing as though I don't like either team, I found a reason to cheer a team.. The Patriots becuz of Larry Centers. He will prolly retire, and this is his 1st SB. Gotta send the AZ Cards favorite player out in style! Who else cheering on Centers?

Cheering for the Pats to lose cause of a former poster that I don't like. Plus I like the underdogs since we are always an underdog team.

Larry will always be remembered by me and many other fans for his accomplishments with the Cards.

He's now a Patriot.

there is a shot that Centers gets in the hall of fame someday...not a great chance - but decent..he is in the top 10 (7th or so) all time in receptions (or something like that)....But Art Monk is not in the hall of fame and at one time he was 1st all time (until rice, brown, andre reed and chris carter came along)....art is currently like...5th.. so...just because you are near the top of the category does not mean you will get in...

Is there anyone in the HOF who played for the AZ Cardinals (or phoenix cardinals)? I did not think there was....Larry and Aeneas probably have the best shot (right now anyway - assuming both retire soon).

Aeneas better make it in the Hall! I think he was the best corner in the league for a long time, people didn't throw his way often though so you didn't hear his named called very often. That's why he didn't get as many interceptions...

I really don't care who wins. I'm just rooting for a good game.

Panthers maybe because DelHomme was playing in Germany.

Though I don't really have any favorite teams, I want to see a good game.

My favorite players would probably be Michael Vick and Anquan Boldin.

I dont like "he who shall not be named" but I do want Larry to get a ring, he has been nothing but Class here in AZ and elsewhere.

I agree, it is quite conflicting.

It's almost the opposite effect I got from watching Emmit run the ball in a Cardinal uniform. I wanted the team to do well, but I almost found myself wanting Emmit to fumble, because he is Emmit.

This is similar to the way I feel about Centers. But, unlike E. Smith, he has never been a great NFL player. IMO, it is comical that anyone would think that he is a Hall of Fame caliber player. IMO, a "Hall of Fame" caliber player should be a playmaker, not a role player. Centers put up good numbers in AZ when they had no weapons, and opponents allowed him to catch the ball "underneath", because they didn't fear that he would "beat them". Opponents were right.

He may be the only NFL player to actually benefit from playing on bad teams. I read posts that say, "he was the "heart and soul of the Cardinals". Who cares who "captained the titanic"?

In AZ (when they became competitive - look at his reception numbers in '98 vs the really bad years), and other places, he was far down the pecking order when it came to offensive options. Obviously, in a meaningful game, he was that again today.

He is and always has been a role player. Centers was a good third down back. A good role player.

When an Arizona Cardinals' player make the Hall of Fame, I hope that that player is a great player, not a role player.
