I agree. However we did fill two holes that needed to be filled. It does feel good to finally have a couple of questions answered.

If you only get two question right out of 7 or 8 you still fail. They have answered 2 questions but the team still reads F we need more than this if the cards are going to win. I dont want to see like i dont like the signings or anything because i do but this is only the first step, hopefully more will come.

You gotta start somewhere. Finally, we've got a couple to cross the line to our side. Now, I think things will move pretty quickly one way or another. If we sign Blake and Holliday, we'd be better at four positions compared to last year. We're weaker at WR, at least on paper, who knows how that will be addressed?

Gotta start somewhere. We have the makings of one mean-ass secondary and a powerful running game.

Hodgins is like a rhino.

These signings are important.

What's important is:

1. We flipped the negative momentum (at least for now). It should make signing additional FA's a wee bit easier.

2. We have the first really effective Cardinal lead blocker since Ron Wolfley.

3. I worship the quicksand Kwamie Lassiter stands on.

Yes we have only filled 2 holes but you have to remember that if this is a test, some of the questions can only be answered after the draft, which is still a month away. Lets list our holes and see where we are.

Starting QB: We need one, but he might be on our roster already (who knows).

Fullback: Check. Someone who can lead block as well as catch. Plus we stole him from the Rams.

Center: Might move Kendall, but that would rduce our depth on the o-line. I like drafting either Al Johnson or Jeff Faine here.

#1 Wide Receiver: No where to be found, but might be available at the number one spot in the draft if we wanted to go up an get him. Probably won't fill this spot this year.

#2 Wide Receiver: Could still be signed, could be on our roster, or could be in the draft. Not worried about filling this one, it should take care of itself.

Defensive End: This has many options. Free Agency, the draft or D. Johnson could fill this role. I am up for adding someone, but only one.

Defensive Tackle: If both Tanner and Bryant (who I think will)step up, than we should be fine. Tanner is who I am worried about, but we do have young depth.

Strong side Linebacker: No clue what we are going to do here, but I have the feeling that the coaches are going to fill this with someone already on our roster since we missed out on Colvin.

Starting Corner: Barret is an excellent nickel guy, but is overmatched as a number two at this point of his carreer. Starks is small but good. Draft is the only place that we will find help here as of now.

Free Saftey: Check. We now have skills and youth at both positions.

I think the signings are great becasue now guys wont be afraid to sign here. They will recognize us making other signings and hopefully will sign up to. Lets get Blake, Holliday, and a WR and I am happy heading into the draft.
