Liberty star and two-time WNBA MVP Breanna Stewart went under the knife on Thursday but her availability for the upcoming season is not in doubt.

According to multiple reports, Stewart underwent a minor scope on her right meniscus and she's expected to be back for training camp, which begins April 27.

The eight-year veteran posted a picture of herself in the hospital Thursday on her Instagram in good spirits.

"might or might not retire the leg sleeve but definitely getting rid of all that tape, iykyk," Stewart's post read. "S/o to the gang getting me through unrivaled and Dr. Weber for getting me right."

After leading the Liberty to their first WNBA championship this past fall, Stewart played in the inaugural season of Unrivaled, the 3-on-3 league she co-founded with WNBA star Naphessa Collier.

Stewart averaged 19.1 points, 11 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game for the Mist, who missed the playoffs after a 5-9 record.

Those numbers are comparable to her 2024 WNBA season when she played in 38 games for New York, averaging 20.4 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists while being named first team All-WNBA and to her sixth All-Star game. She also finished third in MVP voting after taking home the 2023 WNBA MVP as a member of the Liberty.

The Liberty will look to defend their title when their season begins on May 17 when they host the Las Vegas Aces.
