Plus they are moving all their games to FSN, which has committed to broadcasting as many as possible in HD.

TV Schedule: HD HD HD...
At the Field: H-Freakin-D!!!

The D'Backs are ahead of the curve on this one.

Awesome. I thought the Braves' jumbo tron was pretty cool, but now ours will be even bigger.

I understand they are running into real problems finding replacement parts for the scoreboard that is already installed. So this new jumbotron will be an investment of sorts as they are paying so much money for parts.

BTW, I heard it will cost 12 million dollars. That kinda seems cheap for a HD TV the size of a basketball court

Better hope Richie Sexson doesn't bounce a long ball off it again.

It cost some rediculous amount to fix before it was HD.

HD TVs have come down in price quite a bit. Last year at Best Buy you would have paid at least $20 million for a set that size. Of course shipping is not included.

It does include the Geek Squad installation though.

D-Backs are trying to get fans to come to the park, and this might work a little bit, but they have to prove that they can continue to win games constantly. All this stuff they've been doing, all these promotions, are starting to get annoying because I'd like for this club to prove they can get to the playoffs and win.

Think this might make the crowd more passive than before? Now you're watching TV at the stadium instead of the game.

This is a gigantic waste of money if they're not going to show replays. Even then, it would still be a waste.

To my knowledge, MLB is the only league that does not allow controversial replays to be shown. This is an idiotic practice that only shows how weak and fragile the umpires ego's must be. What a joke. A nice new HD Jumbotron would be great if the fans could actually see the close plays and not just moronic animated hot dogs racing.
