Limitless Is Moving Forward At CBS, Get The Specifics

http://www.cinemablend.com/television/Limitless-Moving-Forward-CBS-Get-Specifics-69731.html

CBS has ordered a pilot for Limitless, which will seemingly streamline the film’s story to spin it as a crime procedural.

The main character in Limitless has a completely different name this time around. Instead of Eddie Morra, we will now follow Brian Sinclair, whose brain-expanding drug NZT sets him in the sights of the FBI. But instead of them arresting him or studying NZT, they coerce Brian into using his abilities to help them solve cases, according to Deadline.

I wonder how they are going to write in that nobody else has NZT? I mean it would be nonsensical for the FBI to experiment with their own agents.

Love the tie in to the movie and the fact it has Bradly Cooper. Pretty cool since he is the executive producer.

Has anybody been watching this? I binged the episodes in the last week and I have to say, probably my favorite show of the new season--completely surprised me. Just terrific, fun, quirky and interesting. As an editor, it just looks like a lot of fun to make.

Almost caught up. It's a great show. However, what is weird, it that if you noticed after the first couple episodes the tone of the show took a left turn. It went from feeling like a completely serious take (a la the movie) to having some basically comedic tone in some episodes.

Honestly, it was sort of jarring because it was such an abrupt change. It was almost as if the writers were not sure which tone they wanted. Now in the latter episodes they seem to have found some balance.

I didn't get that--but I do get that they are going to get darker and darker as the series goes on--they pretty much hit you over the head with it. Will they be able to keep up the quirkiness over a 22-episode season? I hope so, I'm really enjoying it.

The Bruntouchables, Ferris Bueller, the Abyss call-out--just a lot of great stuff.

I honestly don't mind the drama mix with comedy. It just feels like a different show since the pilot. I like the balance as of late. I hope the show makes it.

How about the Dexter reunion? Will we see Michael C. Hall next?

I think so but it has gone too far down the "silly" side of the spectrum for me as of late. As I stated above, I don't mind mixing comedy and drama. I thought there was a good mix of lightning up the show (the movie was heavier in nature). However, my problem is I think they have taken it a bit too far at times with the silliness.

It feels very much like the writers are still trying to figure out the tone and balance on the show. Having said that I still really like it.

Disagree. I think it does a terrific job of taking what could be a standard procedural and make it quirky and interesting. It's definitely not the same old thing we've seen all over television. It's also being renewed for Season 2, so that's good.

The last episode was actually quite serious and changes the show fundamentally in a lot of ways.

Interesting and occasionally funny is great. In fact, I love that Brian is almost a man child. The imaginary friend episode was just too far for me. When you watch en episode like that and the one you mentioned above it feels like getting snapped by a rubber band. I just want them to find a better balance.

It's a minor nitpick though. I still love the show.

Still disagree. I love the balance they already have. In regards to your problem with the imaginary friend episode, he IS a drug addict, after all, and they are really trying to show what it is like for a drug addict to function in everyday life, whether its talking to himself or hearing every horrific word or term as an ice cream flavor. Quite brilliant when you think about it. It's really a show about addiction.

Meh...I thought the concept was brilliant but it was completely played out by the end of the episode.

I have only seen two episodes but I liked what I saw. The movie was begging for a tv show.

Travesty. Easily the best new show of 2015-2016.

Terrible. CBS is the WORST.

It's one of the few shows I've watched the past several years that I really liked. After watching the first 2 episodes though, knowing CBS, I figured I'd wait until it had a couple seasons available before getting too hooked. Glad I waited.

Don't be fooled though. It's still a good single-season show. There wasn't a true cliffhanger at the end, so you can treat it like a 20-hour movie/miniseries. Definitely worth the watch, especially if you only saw the first 2 episodes. It's gets a lot better after that.

I have several shows on DVR but this is one that I almost always watched immediately. I absolutely love Brian's character.

If so many people liked it, why would they cancel it? This never makes sense to me.

Everyone I know loved Agent Carter (except Chap lol), and loved it waaaaaaaaaay more than Agents of SHIELD. Yet AoS is still going to be on, and Agent Carter got axed. My guess is that, like Agent Carter, Limitless didn't get the ratings.
