Brandon Johsnon would be worth a look. He did alright at times for the Bengals.

RIGHT! but what we have behind ACHO and schofield??? haggans?? please no... great depth in secondary but linebackers?? if someone like acho or washington get injured???

Haggans understands the system and is a serviceable backup; can't see anything better than him on the market right now, all things considered.

If Washington goes down; Lenon steps in. If Acho is out of the lineup it probably will be Haggans.

It is... what it is!

We have two legitimate LBs in Washington and Acho and a bunch of question marks. Essentially, we are one injury away from disaster.

Questions: Can Lenon still play at 35? Will Clark Haggans be brought back? Will OBSchofield finally learn the defensive plays? Can Stewart Bradley play as well as he did for Philly in 2008 or if that's expecting too much, 2010? Can Quan Sturdivant play in the NFL?

Chopper I'll have to go along with you.

I'm wondering (make that hoping) if our system for development and promotion has progressed to the point where some of our backups and PS guys will get good enough to step up and make an impact.

Specifically: Walker and Sturdivant, but maybe even a couple of our young UDFA's.

There's an interesting subject for research. How many Cardinal players have developed to the point where 3-4 years after they're signed they turn into solid performers?

Calais Campbell, people laughed when I went nuts over CC being faster than JJ Arrington. DWash, k9 was certain he was going to be a bum. Adrian Wilson, even Skorp wanted to cut him. Others? Sadly not many.

Sendlein? I don't know. Is he any better now than in 2008? Of course it's hard to talk about players developing when you only have like 10 guys who have been on your roster for more than 2 seasons.

I didn't even see this thread, I started posting on another about our lack of LB's, it is that bad IMO we have some talent with Washington and Acho, the rest is so unknown or old (Lennon)if you aren't worried, I hope your right but IMO read all of Choppers posts this isn't good no matter how you try to spin it. We better have a plan B.

BIM: Lenon

At this point, it seems clear that we go into this season with Acho, Schofield, Washington, Lenon and Bradley as certain. To these we may add Walker, Sturdivant and the possible re-signing of Haggans. Bradley, I would imagine, will take some snaps at OLB and Sturdivant had a season on the outside in College. Perhaps a few of the more obscure will force themselves into the mix.... but... that's it... that's all. (Total: 8)

Not trying to sound impatient, but .....well..... what are we waiting for ?

It cannot be that hard to re-sign Clark Haggans, unless Haggans is waiting out training camp.

At this point I am wondering if the Cardinals are planning to use Bradley more outside which is why the haven't pursued more OLB depth.

Huge area of concern for me as LBs are so key for this defense.

Possibly getting the draft class out of the way is project one, and then Haggans, etc.

True, and I always forget the Cardinals are big fans of letting the fans know about rookie signings in bunches.

We will see on the site, that the Cardinals sign this one, that one and the other one, in one press release.
