The Detroit Lions hosted the potential top wideout in the 2025 NFL Draft class for one of their 30 pre-draft visits over the weekend. Per Ian Rapoport, the Lions welcomed Texas wideout Matthew Golden to Allen Park for a visit.

Golden is a consensus first-round talent who has surged up draft boards after a stellar season with Texas. A 5-11, 196-pound dynamo who transferred from Houston, Golden is a versatile receiving weapon capable of lining up all over the formation. He's got dynamic speed and playmaking panache — running a best-in-class 4.29 40-yard dash at the combine.

It's an interesting use of the visits with Golden. He is generally projected to come off the board well before the Lions pick at No. 28 overall, and has recently been a popular projection for the Arizona Cardinals with the 16th pick. Golden is a high-end prospect with a similar but more well-rounded game than Jameson Williams did entering the league.
