Here are updates on Lions who are rehabbing from season-ending injuries. Any public posting of rehab videos by the players can be taken as a positive sign for their recovery. Click on links for original injury videos.

Khalil Dorsey, CB: 4 months post right tibia & fibula fracture - December 15, 2024

March 5, 2025 rehab video shows him doing right ankle stabilizing exercises. The fracture was pretty low down the leg and may have affected the ankle joint. If the joint is affected, that could make recovery more difficult and pose long-term issues.

OUTLOOK

The Lions showed optimism in Dorsey's recovery by signing him to a multi-year contract just three months into his rehab. His contract is for 2-years with $300,000 guaranteed, up to $3.3 million.

A tib/fib fracture is usually a 6+ month recovery. He may be ready to participate at some point this offseason. If not, he likely will be ready by training camp.

Malcolm Rodriguez, LB: 4 months post right ACL - November 28, 2024

April 5, 2025 rehab video shows straight-line, half-speed running.

OUTLOOK

Rodriguez likely starts training camp and regular season on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list. A typical 10-11 month ACL recovery would have him playing in a game around late October. Upon return, it will likely take him time to return to his former level of play, but there is good chance he gets there by the end of the season.

There is strong motivation for Rodriguez to prove himself on the field prior to season's end as he is entering the final year of his 4-year rookie contract and will become an unrestricted free agent.

Alim McNeill, DT: 4 months post right ACL, December 15, 2024

OUTLOOK

McNeill almost certainly starts the regular season on PUP with an expected return sometime in November. With a recently signed extension through 2028 and playoff success as the priority, there isn't much urgency to rush him back. It will take time for him to ramp-up to his prior level of high production, and hopefully he gets there by playoff time.
