I've played 2K5 for a little while yesterday and I didn't like it on first impression. I think the gameplay on ESPN NBA 2K4 is 10X better. I haven't played Live yet and I usually don't because the Sega series is usually better.

I bought 2k5 when it came out. I like the game I had to change the control setting around so it was more like 2k4. But the game is much more realistic than last year. You can't just dunk everytime. Plus you have the ability to hit open mid range jumpers which is a big plus. I do think they under rated Amare, but other than that all the players look to be about right. I am sure I will play it more during the weekend and start a 24/7 player.

Live is always better, and the new one is no different. All the reviews agree that the new NBA Live is much better than 2k5

Not sure what reviews you are ready. Live is good for the slam dunk comp. but other than that 2k5 have better game play and graphics are far better.

www.ign.com this is a very good site that gives very detailed reviews. IGN gave live a better rating but fan rating was much higher for ESPN over Live

Live costs twice as much, which makes it an easy choice.

I've always been loyal to EA Sports, they DO produce the best sports games on the market period. For me if it aint broke dont fix it, so I would never change now. Either way though you cant go too far wrong.

Don't get me wrong I was a big Live player but when I got my Sega Dreamcast the 2k series just killed live in game play and graphics. I still like live I just wish they would do better on the graphics then I would get it over ESPN.

To me, it's really just a difference in what type of game you want. If I want a more "arcade" style, I'll play NBA street. If I want more simulation, I'll play ESPN. Live just feels a little too far in between the two.

NBA 2k2 was the best B-Ball game ever, those dreamcast NBA games beat the crap out of what we play today.
