Liverpool’s willingness to sign Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich remains contingent on the future of Georginio Wijnaldum.Jurgen Klopp is a keen admirer of the 29-year-old Bayern midfielder and Thiago himself is known to favour a move to Anfield. However, ESPN report that Liverpool will not stump up Bayern’s €30m asking price if Wijnaldum decides to see out the last year of his contract. Talks between the Dutch midfielder’s representatives and Liverpool are said to have made little progress, with new Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman keen to bring Wijnaldum to the Camp Nou on a free transfer next summer.
