they traded 2 # 1s, 2 # 2s and 2 # 3s for Jared Goff.. Yet the guy can't even sniff the active roster on game day... The mere fact that he can't beat out Case Keenun is bad enough. But add in that he can't even unseat Sean freaking Mannion for number 2 on the depth chart??? All I can say is I love it!!!! Mortgaging a good chunk of their future for a #1 overall who can't make the active roster... I don't care who you are but this has to concern everyone on that team and in their organization greatly...

I venture to say I've never seen it happen before with the number one overall pick(QB)… Sure he's young maybe he can turn it around but as of right now it's looking like the Rams are still a laughing stock.

I feel for them. They've been trying to find a QB ever since Kurt Warner left.

They can call each other that, but no other people can. Then it would be racism. :eek2:

No offense but why would you feel for them? The last thing you want is for that team to find a legitimate top-flight franchise level QB???

They traded the farm for a night on the town. This trade will set them back for quite some time. Personally I didn't think Wentz or Goff we're worth such high picks. The winners are Tenn and Cleveland in this years draft. Ya it's early but I'm sticking to my guns kiddo.

I would be more worried as a Rams fan if they pushed him too fast behind that terrible offensive line. I have no problem with this. If he is not ready, why subject him to the hits and crush his spirit? I also would rather have Mannion as my number 2 QB because if he comes in, it is generally short notice, and a difficult situation to succeed. I can't say that Goff is going to be a bust, but I would rather have him sit week 1 than start like the Eagles are doing with Wentz. Not putting young players in situations to succeed is a huge problem in the NFL.

It has to really be a slap in the face when they see Carson Wentz starting for the Eagles Sunday too! :bang:

No kidding Shane that is really, really embarrassing. The Rams are crazy.

Plus, they need a Head Coach more than a QB IMO. Fisher is just terrible and no matter what QB they get they will suck with him as coach. But, rumor has it they are working on an extension for him, which is good for the continuing suckage and good news for Cards fans :)

I'm not a huge Goff fan I think the system at Cal made him look better than he probably is. That said, much of this is because of the system at Cal, Jared Goff isn't used to taking snaps behind the C. Last year at Cal he took almost every snap either from the Shotgun or the Pistol, so this is all new to him.

Look at what happened to Josh Rosen of UCLA against A&M, came into the game hyped as a Heisman candidate and looked horrible because it was the first game in his life he ever played QB under C and it took him 3 full quarters to get comfortable doing it in a real game.

If you check the scouting reports on Goff in camp they kept talking about all the extra work he was doing with the C's, that's why, he's played most of his career in the shotgun.

All that said, I don't think he'll be a great QB, but I don't expect him to be a bust. They did overpay for him though.

Wentz was terrible in the preseason, something like the 108th rated QB in preseason. He's only starting because they traded Bradford and decided we might as well get him experience. I would say if he plays the real games the way he played in preseason he might not last 6 games before he gets hurt. Has a real bad habit of running and taking contact not sliding. Has talent absolutely but he should not be playing. They were talking about it on ESPN this morning and they were openly stating are the Eagles just doing the Philadelphia 76er route and trying to get the #1 pick next year it makes no sense.

The Rams overpaid for Goff but he's not ready to play and throwing him in when he's not won't necessarily help him get ready IMO.

No problem not starting a Rookie QB. But he should be active. If they are up big(lol), or down big they could put him in and let him learn.

the coaches job is to WIN games though. It's a conundrum you give up a ton to get a QB in the draft everyone expects said QB to come in and start for you right away. But the reality is most #1 overall QB's go to BAD teams that aren't going to win anyways so it's easier for a coach to play them.

The Rams are NOT a bad team, they're a team that with decent QB play might make the playoffs, probably would if they weren't in the same division as the Cards and Seahawks.

I don't think Fisher is a genius or anything but I completely get his stance here, yeah this guy is talented, yeah he's the QBOTF, but I'm trying to win games right now.

If I'm reading this correctly then the ESPN crew are idiots because the Browns have the Eagles first rd pick in 2017.

Wentz needs to learn how to slide and protect himself better but Daniel looked a ton worse than Stanton during the preseason.

Yeah it was on Mike and Mike and i wasn't aware of the draft trade and apparently neither were they.

Wow, M&M are typically well informed. I still have to SMH that they didn't know.

Agreed it's not a big deal for him to sit.

You know who I think will be the best QB out of this draft - Dak Prescott. Just seems like he will do really well with Dallas.
