After spending each of his first seven NFL seasons with the Carolina Panthers, tight end Ian Thomas is moving on.

As announced on Tuesday afternoon, Thomas has signed with the Las Vegas Raiders. The 28-year-old was an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

The Panthers selected Thomas, a standout from Indiana University, in the fourth round of the 2018 draft.

His best season to date came as a rookie, as he amassed what are still career-highs in receptions (36), receiving yards (333) and receiving touchdowns (two). He's since gone on to total 83 catches for 729 yards and two scores between 2019 and 2024.

Thomas, entering the 2024 campaign, was the fourth-longest tenured Panther—behind long snapper JJ Jansen, linebacker Shaq Thompson and right tackle Taylor Moton.

Carolina currently has five tight ends under contract for 2025, including Tommy Tremble and 2024 fourth-round pick Ja'Tavion Sanders.
