Looking back: Cespedes-Lester Trade

Hindsight is always so 20/20... This is a very tough call as you know Beane saw in Lester the guy who could not only get them into the post season, but perhaps all the way thru to the World Series. After being bounced time and again, I can understand why Beane made this move. Though, I'll admit that knowing he couldn't sign Lester after the season, the move seemed - now more than ever - incredibly narrow focused.

The A's weren't scoring enough before Cespedes left. And isn't he a free agent soon too? Not really that bad of a move. Addison Russell for Smarddija maybe was.
