Kyle Flood takes over at Rutgers

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- After a hasty search, Rutgers found a replacement for Greg Schiano in one of his proteges.

Longtime assistant Kyle Flood is getting his first shot at running a college football program, replacing his former boss with the Scarlet Knights.

Good luck Rutgers. Is this a " continue the program by hiring from within ", or "save the recruiting class", or "no one else wanted the job" ?

Mario Cristobal went to Rutgers to talk terms and said never mind. Makes me wonder if the Cuban / American community, that is the power structure at FIU, induced Mario to stay put. Turning down a Big East Conference coaching gig to remain at A Sun Belt Conference school raises unanswered questions.
