The Philadelphia 76ers had to rule out Paul George for the rest of the season on Monday after he was ruled medically unable to play. George's first season in Philadelphia was done after just 41 games in what was a down year for him.
George only averaged 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists while shooting 43% from the floor and 35.8% from deep. It was a tough season from the jump as he dealt with a variety of injuries such as knee issues, a finger issue, and a groin injury as of late before he was ruled out for the rest of the season.
Former Sixers guard Lou Williams was asked what grade he would give George's first season in Philadelphia on "Run It Back" and he stated this:
One has to believe the Sixers will get a much better version of George in the 2025-26 season as long as he's healthy. If he is, then he is a perfect complement to mainstays Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.

It’s an F, because, again, we started this, this year with championship aspirations for this group, and Paul George was that piece that they brought in to get them to that point, to get them over that hump. And with injuries, with everything that was going on, collectively, I think it affected the way that he played, and the way that he went about business, and he just didn't have his best run. Some career lows for him going in this season. Just not a great year. The positive about it is now he understands what Philadelphia is like. He understands what's what it's about. So I look forward to him getting back healthy. Getting himself back in the position to be respected as the Paul George that we've grown accustomed to seeing play on the basketball floor and I think he’ll have a great season next year once he gets healthy and he gets 100% back on track.
