It's been a few years since Louisville basketball fans experienced high-stakes hoops in March.
Stomachs across the 502 were in knots Thursday night, as the No. 2-seeded Cardinals battled No. 7 Stanford down to the wire in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte.
Have no fear; Chucky Hepburn was there to send U of L past the Cardinal, 75-73, with a second-chance jumper from the left elbow as time expired — capping off the largest comeback of the season for Pat Kelsey's team, which trailed by 15 points with 14:32 to play in regulation.
"I just kept my composure," Kelsey said, recalling the moment afterward. "I didn't know if they were going to check the clock — whether it went in (before the buzzer) or not, whether there was going to be more time on the clock. They looked at it and said, 'Bucket good; game over,' and it was crazy."
Louisville fans, understandably, weren't as good at playing it cool like Kelsey did. In the immediate aftermath of the win, they began sharing videos of their reactions to Hepburn's shot on X, formerly Twitter.
Here's a compilation of some of the best celebrations:
Louisville plays No. 3 Clemson at approximately 9:30 p.m. Friday for a spot in the ACC Tournament championship game, where it could face either No. 1 Duke or No. 5 North Carolina.
