Pat Kelsey began his Louisville basketball revival by crushing the NCAA transfer portal.

Can he do it again? It's time to find out; the portal opened for business March 24.

After pulling off one of the largest turnarounds in Division I history, reaching the ACC Tournament championship for the first time since 2014 and appearing in March Madness for the first time since 2019, the Cardinals will say goodbye to the following scholarship players who have exhausted their eligibility; although it's safe to say they'll never buy a drink in this hoops-crazed city again for their contributions to the program's return to national prominence:

The following players from 2024-25 are in line to return, if they don't elect to pursue opportunities elsewhere: J'Vonne Hadley, Aly Khalifa, Kasean Pryor, Kobe Rodgers, Khani Rooths and James Scott. Joining them are two newcomers who committed to Kelsey during his inaugural campaign, McDonald's All-American point guard Mikel Brown Jr. and 21-year-old German big man Sananda Fru.

The transfer portal closes April 22; players who enter it after that date will need a waiver to be eligible for the 2025-26 season. Players can commit to a school at any time, but the regular signing period begins April 16 and ends May 21.

Keep this page bookmarked throughout the offseason to see who U of L is adding and losing.

Koren Johnson entered the portal March 28 after a torn labrum derailed his lone season with Louisville.

Johnson, a 6-foot-2, 175-pound junior guard from Seattle, was in line to be the Cards’ backup point guard but appeared in only their first two games of the 2024-25 campaign.

Between a win over Morehead State and a loss to Tennessee, Johnson totaled six points on 3-for-11 shooting, five assists and three steals in 39 minutes (19.5 per appearance).

Amid a five-game absence due to the aforementioned shoulder injury, Johnson took to X, formerly Twitter, on Dec. 3 to announce he was redshirting and undergoing surgery that would sideline him for the remainder of the season.
