I have been going on out this ice cream since this weekend....so you all are going to hear it too. So my wife comes home with some "low fat" ice cream this weekend and I was pissed because I like having my really fattening ice cream on Saturday night. Everything that is low fat tastes like crap, low fat milk, low fat granola, low fat ranch dressing...etc....etc. I remember that fat free cheese that was all the rage in the 90's, it was so crappy that it wouldn't melt. I remember trying to make cheese crisps with it and nuking it for like 5 minutes and it never even moved on my tortillia.

Anyway, this stuff is by Healthy Choice and it was the Mint Chocolate chip. I was just going to let it sit there on principle, but I got a sweet tooth late Saturday night and decided it was better than nothing. I checked the side of the carton...sure enough, only 2 grams of fat per serving. So I threw some in a bowl and couldn't believe it... It was soft and tasted just like the real thing. Of course I gingerly let my wife know that I liked it. So I am glad I can eat my ice cream and not worry about getting a spare tire. Go out and try it!

You'll get the spare tire. Healthy Choice makes up for the lack of fat by using a veritable sh!tton of sugar in their low fat ice cream. I can't eat it. It's WAY too sweet. So anyway, the sugars are useless carbs, that when you eat them on a Sunday night, do nothing except..... turn to fat for your body to store. Find a low fat ice cream that has no added sugar. Thats the key.

Out here, the brand is EDY'S. It looks like a Dryers label. Might be an East Coast thing. Also, make sure that they aren't replacing the fats in your ice cream with any partially hydrogenated oils. Those are scientific fats, and contain trans fats which in all reality are far worse for your bopdy than even straight up lard, which is an animal fat in its pure form and is easier for the body to digest.

Just a heads up.

Skinny Cow brand has some good stuff. Their ice cream sandwiches and fudge bars are pretty good.

The oldest thread in the forum. We were talking trans fats back in 03!

Yup and in 7 years it has whooping 7 posts. Low fat crap sucks! Although I agree with Mulli on his suggestion.
