LSU baseball entered Saturday's matchup against No. 10 Oklahoma having already secured the series win. With a win today, LSU would secure back-to-back SEC weekend sweeps. The Tigers won game three 3-2.

LSU drew first blood at the top of the second inning when an error by the Sooners' second baseman led to Tanner Reaves and Luis Hernandez scoring, giving LSU a 2-0 lead. In the bottom of the second, Oklahoma cut the lead to 2-1 as a passed ball resulted in a run for the Sooners.

In the top of the fourth inning, Derek Curiel hit an RBI double to increase the LSU lead to 3-1. Chase Shores got the start on Saturday and after a rough outing last week, he was able to settle in vs. Oklahoma.

He did not allow any earned runs during his five innings of work but surrendered one unearned run on three hits, four strikeouts, and four walks. Zac Cowan then entered to pitch for the Tigers in the bottom of the sixth.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Oklahoma was able to get runners on first and second with two outs but a great play by Jared Jones and Cowan got the Tigers out of the inning unscathed.

Cowan remained in the game to pitch the ninth inning In three games against Oklahoma, LSU only used five pitchers. That is an insane stat.

Kade Anderson went all nine innings on Thursday, Anthony Eyanson and Casan Evans pitched Friday night, and Shores and Cowan pitched Saturday. Phenomenal.

In the bottom of the ninth, an error by LSU led to another Oklahoma run to cut the lead to 3-2. That is all Oklahoma could manage as LSU swept them with a 3-2 win.

With the win, LSU improves to 30-3 overall and 10-2 in conference play. The Tigers will be back in action on Tuesday as they travel to Nicholls. The first pitch will come at 6 PM CT.
