After securing the series win against Missouri on Saturday, LSU hit the field Sunday looking for a sweep. LSU did just that as they beat Missouri 10-5 in game three. The Tigers are off to a 3-0 start in SEC play.

Ethan Frey put LSU on the board in the bottom of the first inning with an RBI double. Steven Milam followed that with a sacrifice fly and Jake Brown hit a two-run homer to give LSU a 4-0 lead after one inning. In the top of the second inning, Missouri got one of those runs back to cut the lead to 4-1.

Missouri scored another run in the top of the third inning and the lead was trimmed down to 4-2. In the bottom of the third, a fielder's choice scored another run for LSU, making it 5-2 LSU.

LSU extends its lead

In the top of the fourth inning, Missouri cut LSU's lead down once again as they scored to make it 5-3. In the bottom of the fourth inning, LSU got all three of the Missouri runs back as Jared Jones hit an RBI groundout, Danny Dickinson hit an RBI double, and Frey hit an RBI single to extend the lead to 8-3 LSU.

In the bottom of the fifth, a wild pitch with the bases loaded scored another LSU run to increase the lead to 9-3.

Chase Shores was the man who got the start on the mound today, but he didn't pitch deep. Shores was pulled after 3.2 innings. He gave up three runs on four hits, five strikeouts, and three walks. Conner Ware, Mavrick Rizy, DJ Primeaux, and Zac Cowan all entered to pitch after that to get the Tigers through the next few innings.

In the top of the seventh, an RBI single for Missouri cut the lead to 9-4. LSU got that run back as Chris Stanfield scored in the bottom of the inning to extend the lead to 10-4. Missouri was able to score a run in the top of the ninth against Cowan but that is as close as they could get as a double play ended the game.

LSU improves to 20-1 with the win today and 3-0 in conference play. The Tigers will return on Tuesday as they host New Orleans at 6:30 PM.
