LSU football made a splash in the college football recruiting world on Wednesday, picking up a commitment from five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys. The news was first reported by On3's Hayes Fawcett.

Keys, a Mississippi product, is the top-ranked receiver recruit in the 2026 recruiting class, per On3 and 247Sports. ESPN and Rivals both rank Keys as the No. 2 wide receiver in the class. According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Keys is the No. 3 overall recruit in the country.

The addition pushes LSU's 2026 class to No. 1 in the country. LSU was already atop the SEC and No. 3 in the country entering Wednesday.

"Once a Tiger, always a Tiger," Keys told Fawcett.

LSU beat out big-name programs like Alabama and Tennessee for Keys's services. Keys is the seventh prospect to join LSU's 2026 recruiting class. He's the first five-star to join the group.

Keys is the third blue-chip receiver LSU has added this cycle. The Tigers already secured commitments from Kenny Darby and Jakai Anderson, both Louisiana natives and top 200 overall recruits.

Keys' commitment comes as LSU pushed hard to build its NIL infrastructure in recent months. LSU watched five-stars Bryce Underwood and Dakorien Moore flip from the Tigers last cycle. LSU is determined not to let that happen again.

If LSU gets Keys to the finish line, he will be LSU's first five-star wide receiver since Kayshon Boutte signed in 2020.
