Larry Lucchino will become president and chief executive officer emeritus of the Boston Red Sox when he steps down next month. The 70-year-old Lucchino announced in August he was giving up his jobs after the season, and Boston said chief operating officer Sam Kennedy will take over as president Oct. 16. Lucchino's new titles were announced Sunday before Boston's final home game this season.
