Lunardi is a hack.

It's funny how many national basketball guys our not big fans of our program. I get the feeling Lute pissed quite a few of them off and they are just piling on at any opportunity since he left the first time.

Lunardi admittedly hates Arizona since Lute backed out of road game against St. Joe's like fifteen years ago. There's no real science or prognosticating to bracketology, in March some sources he's acquired at ESPN give him some tips on who made it in or out and he adjusts based on that.

With Rudd out ASU is definitely lacking talent. I dont care if Lunardi has us in or out, he has made his hatred for UA clear over the years and I just ignore what he writes or says about us.

In the preseason last year, didn't the "experts" predict we wouldn't make it in?

Way too early to predict anything regarding either team. With a healthy Abbott and integrated Rudd, I'd like our chances much better. Relying on Boat and Rhode inside is a pretty terrifying prospect.

I thought the ruling on Rudd's eligibilty was still to come. Did I miss something?

The NCAA ruled him ineligible, but ASU is appealing.

That's interesting. I just found the blurb below from an EV Tribune article that was just posted a couple hours ago. I guess they left out the part about him being initially ruled ineligible. Not sure why they believe that will change:

"Then there are the freshmen. The Sun Devils are still waiting on forward Victor Rudd to be granted NCAA eligibility, which is expected to happen, but no one knows when. And since he can’t practice with the team in the meantime, he’s well behind the curve."

I understand ruling UA out at this point, but ruling ASU in is just plain ignorant of their actual roster.
