Ravens | Robinson Has Good Visit - from www.KFFL.com
Thu, 1 May 2003 04:32:18 -0700

Updating previous reports, the Baltimore Sun reports the Baltimore Ravens had a good visit with free agent WR Marcus Robinson (Bears) on Wednesday. Robinson underwent a physical and had a brief morning workout, and Ravens officials feel confident he is recovered from a back injury that slowed him last year. “It’s a good feel here,” Robinson said. “The guys are young and coming up. The defense is great, and they got two young quarterbacks.” The Ravens are offering a one-year deal likely worth the veteran minimum with incentives.

I would feel a lot better about our WR situation if we had this guy as an option. Having him lineup makes the other team have to respect the pass threat. More so than having rookie WR line up. Doesn't look like the Cards have much interest...pity

Oh Canada!
We all know that te Cards had a huge need for a guy like Robinson. And we know that Marcus liked his visit to Arizona.
So what's the hold up? Yhe Cards saw something they didn't like! It's the obnly reason they haven't signed him and why they picked up Foster instead. I also believe they have some inside info on who might be cut on June 1st and they are saving there pennies!

Bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush...oh and what happens if Muhammad doesn't get released like we all expect? What if he restructures? You take the risk on the guy you have the shot with...don't HOPE that a particular player will be cut because A. he may not actually get cut and B. he may not sign with you just because you bring him in.

Sounds to me like the same stuff he said about us. No big deal. The only difference is that they offered him a contract.

The Cards said they will wait till after this weekends mini camp to see what they have going at the WR spot. They will have a lot to judge watching 11 guys. So in theory we need 6 WR's and one practice squad guy, so 5 guys will have to tank it for us to want another WR, so it looks like M Rob will not be gettting a call from the Cards on Monday.

Then we go with what we've got, I'm not all that worried about it.

Actually I am not all that worried about what we have either. I like the idea of throwing them out there and letting them play. I just subscribe to the old school notion of having a good veteran presence to act as mentor. It isn't always possible but I do like the concept of it.

MR's words seem to be a variation of what he said here. Sounds like he's preaching to the choir. Even so I'd still like to see him in Red & White.
