Craig MacTavish is out as coach of the Edmonton Oilers after they failed to make the playoffs for the third straight year. General manager Steve Tambellini said Wednesday he and MacTavish agreed it was time for a change behind the bench. MacTavish this week noted his inability to get the most from a team he predicted would be a contender.
