On the Eve of the Draft here is my final Cardinal Mock draft. While my personal choice is to go after stud WR Corey Davis. I feel that the Cardinals will go Defense early and often in this draft:
1) Malik Hooker - FS - Ohio State
If the Jets take a QB then Hooker could potentially slide to the Cardinals. He would instantly be a starter at FS.
2) Tre'Darious White - CB - LSU
White could go earlier. However runs at positions that are not as deep this year allow White to drop to the Cardinals in the second round. Would compete for the spot opposite from PP.
3) Tanoh K'Passagnon - DE - Nova
Will make the loss of Calais Campbell a little less difficult. A bit raw but with all of the physical skills that you want.
4) Julie'n Davenport - OT - Bucknell
The Cardinals love to find gems from small schools an they think they have found another one in Davenport. This kid is raw but has all of the physical attributes you look for in an OT.
5a) Wayne Gallman - RB - Clemson
The unsung hero of the Tigers stellar season. Gallman will get you the tough yards. Because RB is so deep in both FA and the Draft this year I believe that RBs will slide some this year as teams fill up early on the positions that are not very deep. This will mean that a RB like Gallman could drop into the 5th round.
5b) Xavier Woods - SS - La Tech
Hard hitting safety. This kid is always around the ball and is an amazing ball hawk. La Tech coaches all rave about him and his work ethic. He is the kind of player who Steve Keim loves. This is another kid who loves football and will do whatever it takes to be great.
6) Chad Kelly - QB - Ole Miss
The Nephew and godson of HoF QB Jim Kelly. Off field issues and a knee injury have caused his draft stock to fall. However he has all of the tools you want from a QB. Very athletic and is a dual threat. Would need a year or two to learn the offense which works for the Cardinals.
7) Antony Auclair - TE - Laval (Canada)
This is another small school prospect from Canada of all places who would be a project at TE. He started generating buzz after the East West Shrine game where he made some plays an looked the part. He can catch the ball and is a good blocker.
