With the Senior Bowl wrapping up practice today it's time for my 2018 Cardinals Mock Draft. In this draft I'm assuming the Cardinals will land 3 compensatory picks (3rd, 4th and 7th).

You must be registered for see images

1) Josh Allen - QB - Wyoming

The Cardinals will bring in a Vet QB or two to compete for the starting job in 2018. However the Cardinals hope that Allen will be the QBOTF moving forward.

2) Mike Hughes - CB/R - UCF

My wife went to UCF so we watch as many games as possible. Hughes is just a junior and we are sad to lose him from the Knights roster as he is a special talent at CB. He is a big reason the Knights were the only undefeated team in college football this past season. On top of that he is an electric punt and kick returner.

3) Chad Thomas - DE - Miami

A big DE who has all of the physical tools to make it in the NFL. Suffered a pulled groin at the Senior Bowl that forced him to head home early. Could this kid be the next Calais Campbell?

3c) Leighton Vander Esch - ILB - Boise State

This redshirt junior was the leader of the Boise State defense. He is very intelligent and is another playmaker. He was named Defensive player of the year for the Mountain West Conference. Wilks needs someone to come in and be the future leader of the defense. Vander Esch is that guy!

4c) D. J. Chark - WR - LSU

Speedy WR who would be an added weapon for Josh Allen. I don't expect John Brown to come back next season and Chark would be a good replacement.

5) Shaquem Griffen - OLB - UCF

Yes I love UCF football. Yes I already have the Cardinals selecting Mike Hughes from UCF. Yes Griffen only has one hand. However this kid has a motor like no other. He was the heart and soul of the UCF team. He is a constant playmaker. Coaches will fall in love with this kid and his non stop motor. Fans will embrace him even more. This kid would have been a first rounder if he had two hands. IMO he is still a 1st rounder but scouts will be too scared to pull the trigger. His twin brother was drafted by the Seahawks last year.

7c) Scott Quessenberry - C - UCLA

Solid no frills center who doesn't make mistakes.

I swear to god I came on here right now to make a thread about us taking Shaquem Griffen in round 2 the kid is electric. Talk about a dog man, he was that crazy high motor with speed all day. His spin move is freakish. I love this kid and im rooting for him hard

I think all of your picks are excellent---I just think all of them will go higher than where the Cardinals pick. I think Allen will go in the top ten and Hughes will go between picks 25-40. But in terms of recognizing talent and excellent picks, kudos, MadCard.

Although I would hate if we select Josh Allen, I must say this is some nice work, MCD. Glad you took your time out to do this.

One of the reason why my number one choice for HC was JDF was knowing that if they picked a spectacular raw talent like Allen, JDF would be the best chance to make him a star, as he has done with Carson Wentz. Allen, physically, is like a Carson Wentz on steroids. Looks so much like him---very similar throwing motion and rushing style...only Allen's RPMs are higher and running speed is significantly faster.

Is everyone forgetting that we have TJ Logan coming back next season?

I still have hope that he's the KR/PR we've been waiting for since the Primordial Ooze.

MadCard---check out USA Today's CardsWire---they did a 3 round mock and they matched exactly you in Rounds 1 & 2. (Allen and Hughes) They took highly rated C Frank Ragnow, Arkansas in round 3.

I like it. It is early. Don't be shocked if Leighton winds up being drafted in the top 45.

I didn't forget about Logan.

Hughes is a Stellar CB who just happens to be a great returner as well. I selected him to be the corner opposite of PP and it gives the Cards another option at returner.

Great minds think alike!

Last year I pimped Budda Baker to be the Cardinals 2nd round pick. This year you will hear me banging the drums for Mike Hughes in the second. I love that kid. As well as Griffen. Go Knights!

I like Hughes so much that i would take him in Round 1, if the QB is addressed in FA or via trade.

Why did you have to do it MadCardDisease ? WHY?

So, of course, this reminded me of this savage time killer and production eraser.

That being said, here is my first mock, and I will say, I have NOT done my homework yet.

I love the idea of grabbing a CB in the second. Josh Jackson and Denzel Ward will most likely be picked by mid first, but Mike Hughes, Carlton Davis, Donte Jackson, Isaiah Oliver would all be excellent choices in the 2nd if one is still on the board!

3c) Leighton Vander Esch - ILB - Boise State

Love this guy. On my board i have him rated as the #2 ILB for the upcoming Draft. I have Tremaine Edmunds as #1.
