Madden 08 PC vs Game Console

Has anyone bought 08 PC version? How is the graphic compared to Xbox 360 or PS3?

Also is the PC version for Vista?

Brat got the pc version:

Played it for about an hour today (pc version). It seemed about the same to me as last year, with some added polish (touchdown graffic was one).

Started a franchise and went through the same basic boring training camp as has been there for the last couple or three years. I got about 5 minutes into the first quarter of preseason against the raiders and had to turn it off to do some work.

I could be wrong, but I believe the PC version of Madden is still the PS2/Xbox old generation game and not the PS3/360 new generation game.

Indeed it is a port of the PS2 version.

I have a PC that makes the Xbox360 & PS3 seem like an ENIAC's! And I get stuck with ports for the friggin' PS1.5?

I know...with this version of Madden, EA Sports has really hit their stride with the next-gen consoles...they just don't put for any effort for the PC market.

Aren't the "next-gen" consoles really the current consoles?

What really drives me nuts is the idea that the madden game, or any other, needs to be a step behind the console version. Its money driven, because it certainly doesn't make sense from a hardware standpoint.

Yeah, I suppose. Old habits die hard...

It is a moneymaking decision. They port the most easily converted version. PC sales for Madden are usually around 15k-25k for PC. That's a drop in the bucket to the consoles, and not worth EA's time (not my opinion, their's!)

Yeah, "next gen" has been "current gen" for probably about a year now. EA has been slow with all of their PC sports games when it comes to making the jump to the current generation standards. My guess is it is because DirectX 10 hasn't become the norm yet and they are waiting on that to mature.

Well that should change now, because XBox games are supposedly an easy port directly to the new DX10 or 11 or whatever the f it is on the PC.

Thanks you all for the info. Man, I hoped the PC version was going to be good as Xbox 360. I guess I have to invest in Xbox 360...Darn it!!!

I'm not forking out for another Madden regurgitation from EA sports. I bought the last two years strictly because of the new uniforms and then the new stadium.

Exclusive contract for NFL games leads to a lack of development and the same poopy game as last year.

You can't polish a turd.

To bad everyone doesn't vote with their wallet this year on EA's handling of the franchise.

I for one am sick of balls magically changing trajectory mid flight or traveling through a defenders torso. Defenders bodys teleporting through blockers bodys to make the tackle ect.

Unqualified garbage.
